Fishwicks Funeral Service, based at Beetham Hall, Beetham, near Milnthorpe in Cumbria, is an independent family funeral directors established in 1935. For generations, the business has served families across Cumbria and the Lake District with care, professionalism, and dignity. Originally developed by John and Valerie Fishwick, the firm is now carried forward by their two daughters, Jayne and Kate, supported by a dedicated team of funeral directors, arrangers, coffin furnishers, and driver/bearers.
As a fully serviced funeral directors with its own crematoria — including the onsite Beetham Hall Crematorium established in 2017 — Fishwicks provides a complete, seamless service from the first arrangements to the final farewell, ensuring loved ones remain in their care throughout. Their fleet includes three hearses and three limousines, and they maintain Chapels of Rest at Beetham and Bowness-on-Windermere.
Fishwicks offers a wide range of funeral options including attended and unattended cremations, burials, direct cremations, and green funerals. Their services primarily cover the South Lakeland area, from Grasmere to Carnforth and from Grange-over-Sands to Kirkby Lonsdale. The team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and prides itself on transparent pricing and sensitive, personalised guidance for every family.
