A.D. Walker Ltd is an independent funeral director based in Banff, Banffshire, with a proud history stretching back to 1945 and roots tracing through three generations of the Walker family. The company was originally established when Alexander Davidson Walker acquired the business on the retirement of Alexander Rennie in 1957, continuing a traditional practice of joinery businesses also serving as undertakers. The premises at Victoria Place, Banff, have been thoughtfully developed over the decades, and the company was rebranded in 2018 under its current independent identity.
The small, dedicated local team is led by Jane, a highly qualified Lead Funeral Director who holds a Certificate in Funeral Services, a Diploma in Funeral Directing, Practical Embalming credentials, and Bereavement Counselling qualifications, and was recognised as Public Servant of the Year in 2019. Together with Alison, who combines funeral directing with the administrative and financial management of the business, and Colin, who assists across all operational duties, the team is committed to providing an empathetic and professional service.
A.D. Walker Ltd believes every funeral is unique and special, and works closely with families from the very first call to help honour their loved one's life. The company also offers pre-arranged funeral plans in partnership with Golden Charter, allowing families to plan ahead with confidence.
"Thank you for making mum's last day special. There are one of the best funeral directors and we can't praise them enough."
