Funeral of Marion Potter - 23rd April 2026 I could not have made a better choice than asking the incredibly warm and caring team at Ballard & Shortall (East Grinstead) to arrange and conduct my mum's funeral. They did everything with compassion, understanding and an extraordinary attention to detail. The funeral went without a hitch and was a perfect tribute to her life. Paul, Bobbie, Natalie and the rest of the team at East Grinstead, along with Karen Acres, provided a professional and first class service that I don't think could have been achieved by anyone else. Thank you all for your care and support through such a difficult time. I'd have been lost without you.

I cannot thank Bobbie, Natalie, Karen, Paul and the rest of the team at Ballard and Shortall, East Grinstead enough for the kindness and support they gave me and my family during such a difficult time of our lives. We were invited to a meeting with Bobbie to discuss arrangements who was wonderful and treated us with such compassion and patience with few laughs and tears, nothing was too much trouble. They took great care of Ken and we were able to visit him whenever we wished. For the day she put us in touch with a lovely celebrant, Michelle who was a great fit for the kind of service we wanted and Paul and his team on the day were just fantastic. Everything was handled seamlessly with such dignity and attention to detail, which meant so much to me and my family. I will always be eternally grateful for the warmth and professionalism they showed us, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing such support at a really difficult time. Dignified, caring, supportive, professional and felt thoroughly respected with our wishes. Paul and his team went above and beyond with their duties making us feel that saying goodbye to our loved one was their final act of respect on our behalf. Always looked after by Paul and his team and cannot thank them enough for all that they have done.

This is the second funeral Ballard and Shortall have undertaken for us. It would never occur to me to go elsewhere. They are totally compassionate and professional everything performed with dignity and empathy. So friendly, nothing was too much trouble, every detail was carefully considered and double checked . Bobby particularly guided us through when our heads were all over the place.Thank you to Paul and Barny too. I would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you all. So very much appreciated.

The service we received from everyone in the East Grinstead team, from the advisers to the pallbearers, was exceptional. They are exactly the kind of people you need beside you when you are grieving a loss: kind, supportive, compassionate, and, when appropriate, gently humorous which meant we felt that laughter at such a sad time wasn't out of place.
