We cannot thank Bobby and the whole team enough for helping us get through the worst time of our lives. We lost our son at only 34 years old the pain was unbearable. Our first meeting was so difficult as it's not what we were expecting to do. We met Karen and what a lovely lady she was, she helped us get through the first part . We were still waiting for our son to be brought home , but we knew from that moment he was going to be looked after. We knew he was in good hands and was going to be looked after with the loving care we could not now give him. We had by now met Bobby , Natalie and Sam all such lovely people. They always had time especially when we visited him to talk about him his life and made sure we were ok. Our darling son was treated with such love kindness and dignity. They put us on to the celebrant who was wonderful. The team made it all so stress free, we were able to grieve and we didn't have to worry about a thing. On the dreaded day Bobby was there it was a comfort we felt like she and the team had become part of the family and it helped enormously. We could not have asked for more, we were supported throughout. We and the whole family will be forever grateful.

The cremation service for my late wife Maureen, was a wonderful dignified affair, carried out with gentle efficiency and genuine compassion. From our first contact to the day of the funeral, the care and professionalism shown by their team was exceptional. The kindness, respect, and support, we received from Karen, Natalie, Bobbie, Paul and Cleo was quite simply, above and beyond. I am sincerely grateful for their excellent service and would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody seeking a caring and professional funeral director.

Approaching Ballard & Shortall in East Grinstead was simple and my first appointment with Bobbi was relaxed and informal. The interactions that followed with Natalie were also relaxed, respectful and kind. All the arrangements were made efficiently with care and consideration and any mention of my late father was done with kindness. The flowers, arranged by Ballard & Shortall, were very good and there was plenty of choice. The celebrant was kind and gentle and took the time to meet me and get a deeper understanding of my late father. The ceremony itself passed without incident and was exactly the send-off he and I would have wanted. Thank you Ballard & Shortall for making a difficult time feel far less challenging.

Funeral of Marion Potter - 23rd April 2026 I could not have made a better choice than asking the incredibly warm and caring team at Ballard & Shortall (East Grinstead) to arrange and conduct my mum's funeral. They did everything with compassion, understanding and an extraordinary attention to detail. The funeral went without a hitch and was a perfect tribute to her life. Paul, Bobbie, Natalie and the rest of the team at East Grinstead, along with Karen Acres, provided a professional and first class service that I don't think could have been achieved by anyone else. Thank you all for your care and support through such a difficult time. I'd have been lost without you.

We were invited to a meeting with Bobbie to discuss arrangements who was wonderful and treated us with such compassion and patience with few laughs and tears, nothing was too much trouble. They took great care of Ken and we were able to visit him whenever we wished. For the day she put us in touch with a lovely celebrant, Michelle who was a great fit for the kind of service we wanted and Paul and his team on the day were just fantastic. Everything was handled seamlessly with such dignity and attention to detail, which meant so much to me and my family.
