Barry Pritchard Funeral Services is a long-established, family-rooted funeral business based in Swallownest, Sheffield. Barry Pritchard is a third-generation funeral director, proudly following in the footsteps of his father Alan (Jim) and grandfather Charles, with the Pritchard family having served as undertakers since the early 1900s. This rich heritage underpins a deeply personal and compassionate approach to funeral care.
The Swallownest branch, located at 88–90 Worksop Road, offers a full in-house service, meaning families can arrange everything in one place — from flowers and orders of service to memorial headstones — removing the worry of sourcing these from multiple providers. The team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can also visit families at home to discuss funeral arrangements at their convenience.
Barry Pritchard Funeral Services proudly serves the communities of Aston, Aughton, Swallownest, Killamarsh and all surrounding areas. They offer a wide range of services including cremations, burials, green and woodland funerals, unattended cremations, and repatriation. As part of Funeral Partners Limited, the business combines trusted local heritage with professional standards, and is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors.

I cannot speak highly enough of George. From start to finish he was professional, friendly and showed much empathy. The service itself was brilliant and a good send off for my Aunt. I would highly recommend Barry Pritchard Funeral Services.

It’s so important to recognise truly outstanding service, and George and his team are nothing short of incredible. From the very first moment we made contact, George showed immense care and professionalism, taking away so much of the stress during an incredibly difficult time. We have had the funeral, and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for more. Everything was handled with such respect, efficiency, and grace. The presentation was beautiful, the flowers were stunning, and the thoughtful little touches made all the difference. Thank you, George and your team, from the bottom of our hearts. You truly did my Grandad proud.

A huge thank you to everyone at Barry Pritchard. You made a sad and difficult time so reassuring and personal. George was amazing, so professional, patient and caring. Nothing was ever too much trouble and everything was dealt with in such a sensitive manner. A big thank you to Jo, the celebrant. You turned our memories of our dad into an amazing and beautiful tribute! You too made us feel so comfortable and the conversations just flowed! I felt so much comfort having you both there for the beautiful service. The service was complimented by everyone who attended. The photo tribute was moving so too was the memorial. I would definitely recommend George, Jo and everyone at Barry Pritchard. Thank you so very much.
