H.J. Johnston & Son is an independent family firm of funeral directors established in 1932, based at Rogues Hill Lodge in Penshurst, Kent. Founded by Henry James Johnston, known as Harry, who continued working as the village undertaker after the closure of Constables in Penshurst, the firm has been serving local communities for over 90 years across three generations of the Johnston family. A member of the Johnston family personally oversees every arrangement from the first call through to the completion of funerals and burials, ensuring a truly personal and compassionate service.
The firm serves a wide area including Penshurst, Fordcombe, Chiddingstone, Leigh, Hever, Edenbridge, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, and many surrounding villages. Clients are welcome to visit the premises in Penshurst, and home visits are available for those who find it difficult to travel.
