H.J. Newman is a third-generation, fully independent family-run funeral directors based at 180 Stoke Road, Slough, Berkshire. Founded in 1960 by Harold J. Newman (originally trading as Newman & Son), the business has been guiding and supporting families through their bereavement for over 60 years. Harold's son Eric joined in 1962, followed by his daughter-in-law Petula in 1979, and today the business is carried on by Tina Newman-Rowden and her nephew Ben Newman, representing the third and fourth generations of the Newman family. Their founding vision — to provide a trusted and caring approach to funeral services in Berkshire — remains at the heart of everything they do.
As one of the few remaining independent family funeral directors in Slough, H.J. Newman prides itself on tailoring every funeral to the individual's unique requirements and budget, rather than offering set packages. Services include traditional funerals for all religious denominations or celebrant services, prepaid funeral plans, non-service cremations, green and woodland burials, and horse-drawn funerals. The premises offer disabled access and ample customer parking.
A Newman family member is always available during office hours, and the team provides a 24-hour, 365-days-a-year out-of-hours service for collection of loved ones. H.J. Newman is a fully accredited member of the NAFD and serves families across Slough, Maidenhead, Staines, Windsor, Egham, Ascot, Bracknell, High Wycombe, and surrounding areas.
