Hayley Owen Funeral Director is an independent, family-run funeral home based at 169–171 Boroughbridge Road, York, serving York and the surrounding communities. Founded in 2015 by Hayley Owen and her husband David, the business prides itself on being York's most qualified independent funeral directors, with Hayley holding the qualifications of MBIE, Dip.FD, CTLLS, LM.BIFD, and MEAE — making her one of the only fully qualified lady funeral directors, undertakers, and embalmers in the area. The team currently includes three fully qualified funeral directors and two fully qualified mortuary staff, all trained to the highest professional standards via the British Institute of Funeral Directors and Greenwich University.
Hayley Owen Funeral Director takes a personalised, modern approach to funeral care, offering a wide range of services including traditional religious and non-religious funerals, eco-funerals, horse-drawn hearses, burials at sea, and military funeral arrangements. The team does not employ salespeople and actively seeks to reduce costs for families wherever possible, ensuring each service truly reflects the wishes of the deceased and their loved ones. The funeral home is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and welcomes families to visit the premises and ask questions about their care procedures.
