Established in May 2003, when the first burial took place, the cemetery has been providing peace of mind to families ever since. It is managed by in-house funeral directors Adam & Greenwood and is an independent, three-generation family-owned business, currently run by two generations of women.
The cemetery offers a peaceful, natural environment for people's final resting place and a calm, quiet place in nature for families to visit and remember their loved ones. Their qualified and caring staff are on site Monday to Saturday, 9am to 4:30pm, and phones are open 24/7, 365 days a year. They can arrange burial, cremation, or ashes services, and always strive to assign the same funeral arranger throughout the process to build trust and continuity.
Herongate Wood also offers pre-booked plots with interest-free payment options and no maintenance, lease, or out-of-area surcharge fees. No grave will ever be re-used or disturbed. Additional services include ashes burials and scatterings, pre-paid funeral plans, and personalised memorials on benches, walls, or trees. The site also hosts community events such as a Volunteer Gardening Group and an annual Memorial Summer Concert.
