"Susan's death was a shock and unexpected and Jean talked us through everything we needed to do and more. Would not have been able to do it without them."
— Karen Jamison (about Jean)
"After visiting a previous funeral parlour which was quite unprofessional and cold, the professionalism, understanding, empathy and genuine warmth and Love of Christ we were met with could be felt. After our second choice, James Brown & Sons, we knew we did not need to view a third place."
— This Leprechaun Writes (about Glynis, Lawrence, Jean)
"Glynis took over when Jean was off and completed everything we required — she was fabulous. We felt this was a massive help in our grief. She is an absolute credit to James Brown and gives people such warmth and care over losing loved ones. Nothing feels a bother to Glynis and everything can be sorted — no question is too small."
— Arlene Macartney (about Glynis)
"Their heartfelt compassion and efficiency was second to none and they took all the pressure off our family allowing us to grieve. We cannot thank them enough for all they did for us in our time of need."
— Jackie Nicholl (about Glynis, Jean, Stephen)
"Our funeral arranger, Jean, was wonderful from our initial contact with her right throughout the process. She was so empathetic and professional... Sarah was our funeral director on the day, and we were so impressed with how she managed the family to ensure everything went smoothly without a hitch. It made a very difficult day so much easier knowing that it was being managed by her."
— Julie Armstrong (about Jean, Sarah)
"Jean was absolutely amazing — professional, compassionate, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. She made everything feel manageable and gave us so much comfort and reassurance while we were grieving. The entire team treated our loved one with dignity and care, and we truly felt this was the best place to entrust such an important moment."

Everything about James Brown Directors Partners in Whiteabbey was brilliant. The staff were kind, caring, compassionate, and most importantly, genuinely supportive during a very difficult time. Jean in particular did so much for us, but everyone we dealt with was wonderful — even those we had limited contact with. We couldn’t have asked for better support and would highly recommend them.

From my initial telephone call and contact with Ryan to the day of the funeral I can honestly say I was so impressed with the service provided. Our funeral arranger, Jean, was wonderful from our initial contact with her right throughout the process. She was so empathetic and professional, explaining everything that needed to be done and carefully going over each step so that we fully understood. She clearly understood our wishes and concerns and could not have done more for us. A wonderful person to have guiding us throughout this necessary process. Also Sharon was a lovely, warm and friendly presence for our first viewing and her approach was just perfect. Sarah was our funeral director on the day, and we were so impressed with how she managed the family to ensure everything went smoothly without a hitch. She liaised with the crematorium staff and minister and handled everything beautifully. She was so respectful and professional. It made a very difficult day so much easier knowing that it was being managed by her. She was very personable and looked after all the necessary processes with ease. I have to say that all the staff I interacted with were excellent and I was so impressed with them. I would have no hesitation in recommending James Brown & Sons Whiteabbey to any one in need of their services.

Jean and Glynis done a great job. Glynis took over when Jean was off and completed everything we required she was fabulous from showing us in person the order of service as we had only seen the pictures on a sheet with Jean....we changed our mind on the picture after seeing in person and Glynis took it all on and sorted everything we needed. We felt this was a massive help in our grief. She is an absolute credit to James Brown and gives people such warmth and care over losing loved ones. I'm glad we have already chosen this company for our funeral plans as we now know our family have nothing to worry about . Nothing feels a bother to Glynis and everything can be sorted..no question is to small. Absolutely 5* rating
