John Davies and Sons Funeral Directors is a fourth-generation, family-run business founded in the early 1900s, based at Beechwood, Park Terrace, Trelewis, Treharris. The business is owned and operated by the founder's grandson, John Davies, and his daughter, Laura Davies, continuing a long tradition of compassionate service to the local community. Over the decades, the company has evolved from its origins as undertakers, coach builders, and building repairers into a dedicated funeral directing and memorial masonry service.
The Treharris branch operates from their Chapel of Rest at Beechwood, Park Terrace, Trelewis, and is available to support families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are proud to serve the communities of Treharris, Nelson, Bedlinog, Gelligaer, Hengoed, Abercynon, Merthyr Vale, and all surrounding areas. Their commitment to providing thoughtful, high-quality, and reasonably priced funeral services has made them a trusted name across Mid Glamorgan.
John Davies and Sons Funeral Directors offer a comprehensive range of services including funeral planning, direct cremation, memorials, memorial jewellery, and coffin selection. They are an appointed representative of Golden Charter Funeral Plans, ensuring families have access to professional pre-arranged funeral planning options.

My gramps passed away recently, Iβd never had to arrange a funeral etc before but from the moment I rang the girls and said I wanted gramp taken into their care they were absolutely amazing. From that phone call to even now 2 months on. They guided me through the process every step of the way. Facilitated chapel visits sometimes even at last minuite and made sure gramps and our wishes were followed through to the very end. The professionalism, love care and compassion they show is outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The girls were there to listen when I needed to talk and showed genuine empathy. In the event I have to do this again I wouldnβt want to go anywhere else. Thankyou will never be enough to show how my I appreciate these people.

Whilst losing my mam at such a young age I didnβt have a clue about the funeral process, the staff at John Davies and Sons were incredible throughout, explained absolutely everything and made my mams celebration of life everything we hoped for and more. A special thank you to Laura who navigated us through this life changing time and laughed along with us at the silly things my mam has done, all the quirky touches we wanted were met without any problems. I canβt thank them enough for all they have done for myself and our family. It takes very special people to be able to do their job and I canβt fault them one bit, amazing service providers. Thank you once again all.

You don`t relish the time when you have to use John Davies funeral services, but their professionalism, compassion and friendliness helped us have a very special day. They guided us through the whole process and made the day run very smoothly. They made some very special requests by the family happen on the day, and for that I will always be indebted to them. Thank you for a lovely and very special day.
