After my mam lost her partner we contacted John Hogg at the faringdon funeral home to arrange a cremation only funeral which sturt goldsmith was more than happy to talk us through the hole procedure and that up to 10 people could be at the crematorium which allowed my mam to have that bit of final closure all the staff at John Hoggs were very professional and compassionate to our needs. I can't thank them enough for all their support in a sad time . If you are thinking of a cremation only funeral i would highly recommend you have a chat with the staff at John Hogg . Our Funeral Director was Claire Ward. At all stages of the process she was very compassionate, understanding and professional. She was available to discuss any concerns and kept us regularly updated. The day of the funeral went very smoothly.

Brilliant service from the pre purchase of funeral plans right through to our parents sad departures... Very professional , respectful , caring , kind and most importantly - friendly . As a family we were all highly impressed & would unreservedly recommend to anyone . When we went to register dads death we had a lovely registrar...when she asked which funeral directors & we replied - her smile spoke volumes ! 2 very sad occasions were made so much bearable by the amazing high standard of service we received 💐💐💐💐💐

John was so lovely to deal with at a very challenging time, and made us feel very confident that Dad would be well looked after. We had a direct cremation, but really appreciated being able to have Dad dressed in his own comfortable clothes and to be able to see him at the funeral home and leave some personal items to go with him on his final journey. Another member of staff even offered to build a plane model kit in his own time which was just such a lovely gesture. On the day of the cremation, we really appreciated the opportunity to follow Dad into the crematorium to say a final goodbye and this gave us some closure. We really feel like you went above and beyond and can't thank you enough for your fantastic service.

From the very first contact, the care and compassion shown by the team — and especially Gemma — meant more to us than I can properly put into words. During one of the hardest times of our lives, we were treated with such kindness, patience, and dignity. Nothing ever felt rushed, and no question or concern was ever too small. Gemma guided us through every step with warmth and sensitivity, making an overwhelming process feel manageable and safe. We always felt listened to and supported, and that meant everything. We will always be grateful for the care shown to our family and for helping us say goodbye in such a respectful and meaningful way.
