John Heath & Sons is an independent, family-run funeral directors based in Sheffield, with their original office located at Earsham Street in the centre of the city. The firm has been serving the Sheffield community for over 140 years and is considered possibly the oldest and largest independent funeral directors in the North of England, still owned and operated entirely by the original Heath family. Adam and Jason Heath represent the sixth generation of the family to lead the business.
The company offers a comprehensive range of funeral services, including cremation and burial, non-religious and humanist ceremonies, green and woodland funerals, direct cremations, and full pre-planning options with or without pre-payment. Their Earsham Street branch features a chapel of rest and is the historic heart of the business, complemented by modern chapels at each of their eight branches across Sheffield and the surrounding area.
John Heath & Sons were founder members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), and Adam Heath serves as a national spokesman and board examiner for the association. The firm is also a member of the British Institute of Embalmers and the British Institute of Funeral Directors, reflecting their commitment to professional excellence and compassionate, personalised care at every stage of the funeral process.
