McCallum & Tritton Funeral Directors has been serving the communities of Liverpool and North Merseyside for over 70 years, having conducted their first funeral in 1953. Founded by Douglas McCallum and Charles Tritton — close friends who reconnected after World War Two — the business grew from humble beginnings into a trusted, independent family funeral practice with an enviable reputation for compassionate and professional service. The firm is currently run by Andrew Stones, who became a partner in 2011 after 42 years with the company, and is ably assisted by qualified funeral directors David Bray and Ainsley Ottley.
The Brighton-le-Sands branch is located at 46 Mersey View, with private chapels of repose in the adjoining building on Holden Road East. McCallum & Tritton offer a full range of funeral services, from simple, affordable direct cremations to more elaborate ceremonies. Their fleet of Mercedes hearses and limousines has been maintained by professional mechanics for over 40 years, and alternative vehicles — including horse-drawn carriages and a motorcycle hearse — are available on request.
Coffins range from traditional veneer styles to eco-friendly wicker and cardboard options, and a wide selection of urns and caskets for cremated remains is also available. The company is proud of its deep roots in the local community, supporting organisations such as the Plaza Cinema, Marine FC, and local junior football teams.
