Nicholas O'Hara Funeral Directors has been serving the communities of Wimborne and the surrounding Dorset area since 1974, when the company was founded by Nicholas O'Hara alongside his parents Pat and Brenda. The Wimborne branch, located at 38 Rowlands Hill, serves as the head office and operates from the site of the former Somerleigh Court Nursing Home. The business has remained a family affair, with Nicholas's wife Jackie and their children Anthony and Natalie continuing to serve as Business Principals.
The team at Nicholas O'Hara Funeral Directors is committed to providing the highest levels of care and sensitivity, paying careful attention to every detail and request to create a meaningful and personal farewell. They offer a comprehensive range of funeral services, including traditional burials, cremations, direct unattended cremations, woodland burials, religious and non-religious services, and repatriation. Families are supported before, during, and after the funeral.
Now part of Funeral Partners Limited, the branch maintains its strong local identity and community roots. The team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, whether by telephone or through a home visit, ensuring families in Wimborne and the surrounding areas always have compassionate support when they need it most. Prices for funeral services start from £1,700 (excluding third-party fees).

There are no words or enough stars to describe how amazing and exceptional Nicholas O Haras services and Team are !! Right from the beginning of arranging a funeral plan with Anthony through to the actual funeral day. Their ethos of our family is here for your family is not just lip service, they certainly are with the most outstanding care and compassion. Anna was absolutely amazing and is an absolute credit to them, her compassion, attention to detail and guidance is second to none, she was there with us as a family every step of the way and nothing was too much trouble for her, even when we wanted to change things, we cannot thank her enough she made sure everything was just perfect for the Queen of our families final journey to her forever bed. Stephanie made sure the service sheets were to perfection making adaptions to photos etc. Then there was Rob the celebrant, what an amazing man we truly believe he was the most perfect person to have to talk about Our Queen in a way she would have loved with such humour and wit. The communication and contact from these guys was nothing but exceptional and we will certainly be recommending Nicholas O’Hara and Team’s services to others. Thank You so much from the bottom of our hearts for making this tough time so much easier.

The kindness and care given to Barry Kyles was second to none. My daughters and I were given such tenderness that made us feel comforted. Simon was so kind and sympathetic. I am sure we made the right decisions in saying farewell to Barry. Thank you from all of us.

I would recommend O'Hara's to everyone, So professional but at the same time so caring, I was so apprehensive at first but Marie put me at ease immediately, every thing was done for me, it was all perfect, and on the day of the funeral it was lovely, Anthony and the pall bearers were also kind and thoughtful, and the next day at the woodland burial it all went so wonderful, I cannot thank you all enough, you made a difficult time so much easier for me. God bless you all From Viv Travers

A special thanks to Jon and everyone at Nicholas O Hara in Wimborne. They managed the funerals of both my mum and dad in the last 2 months. Jon was a huge support in a difficult time, staying in touch throughout, totally professional, he really helped make the process more bearable. Richard the Celebrant, was outstanding. Everything was managed seamlessly and the services were everything we hoped for. Sara and Tania
