About

Philip Blatchly & Son is a family-run funeral directors and monumental masons serving Lydney, Gloucestershire and the surrounding region. The Lydney branch, located at Regents Court, Regent Street, is one of three branches operating under the company's head office at Highcroft House, Woolaston. The company was founded in 1964 when Philip Blatchly took over the funeral directing business from the retiring Mr. Harold Kyte, and has grown steadily over the decades, acquiring G. Harris & Son of Lydney in 1972 — a firm established in 1887.

The company handles in excess of 350 funerals each year and serves a geographical area of approximately 270 square miles, stretching from Newnham in Gloucestershire to Newport in South Wales, including the Forest of Dean. They also manage repatriations from any part of the United Kingdom and worldwide.

Philip Blatchly & Son is dedicated to providing a personal, professional service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Each branch, including Lydney, features a Chapel of Rest and a Monumental Showroom. The company holds memberships with the British Institute of Funeral Directors, the British Institute of Embalmers, and the National Association of Funeral Directors, reflecting their commitment to the highest standards of care and professionalism.
