The business was established in 1986 by Roy and Christine Gwinnell, with the first funeral home opening in Manningtree. Since then, the family has grown the business to include branches across Essex and Suffolk, with Walton-on-the-Naze being one of their valued locations.
Roy Gwinnell's eldest son Matt joined the business in 2002, having grown up witnessing his father's dedication to serving local families. As members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and the National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM), R Gwinnell and Sons takes great pride in delivering a quality, compassionate service. Roy holds the Diploma in Funeral Directing and is a member of the British Institute of Funeral Directors.
The Walton-on-the-Naze branch can be reached at 01255 879700 and the team is available 24 hours a day. Services include funeral arrangements, coffins, caskets and urns, headstones and monuments, hearses and carriages, and pre-paid funeral plans, ensuring families receive comprehensive support at every stage.
