Selwood Funeral Directors is a family-owned and family-run business with a proud history dating back to 1974, when Lindsay Martin and his wife Norma established the firm. Now recognised as the oldest established, independent, family-owned and run funeral directors in Angus, Selwood has grown to serve the community from two locations, including their Monifieth branch at 21 High Street.
The Monifieth office is managed administratively by Linda Oliphant and Ursula Ryder, ensuring families receive attentive, personal care at every step. Selwood offers a 24-hour personal service, 365 days a year, providing families with support whenever they need it most. Following Lindsay's passing in January 2017, Norma continues to lead the family business, with grandson Dale Martin Dip.FD, Dip.FAA joining in 2012 to carry on the family tradition.
Selwood Funeral Directors holds memberships with the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), the British Institute of Funeral Directors (BIFD), and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), reflecting their commitment to the highest professional standards. Their range of services includes direct cremation and flexible, bespoke funeral arrangements tailored to each family's individual needs and wishes.
"Efficient caring staff, wonderful respectful service for the deceased."
