Selwood Funeral Directors is a family-owned and family-run funeral business established in 1974 by Lindsay Martin and his wife Norma, making it the oldest established, independent, family-owned and run funeral directors in Angus. Their Carnoustie branch, located at 77-79 Dundee Street, has been operating from its current premises since 1986 and features a service room seating 90 mourners, two rest rooms, and a purpose-built mortuary.
Following Lindsay's passing in January 2017, Norma Martin continues to lead the family business, supported by a dedicated team including her grandson Dale Martin (Dip.FD, Dip.FAA), who joined in 2012. The Carnoustie office is managed by Jacqui Laing, providing a warm and personal point of contact for families in the local area.
Selwood offers a 24-hour personal service, 365 days a year, ensuring families have support whenever they need it. The firm holds memberships with the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), the British Institute of Funeral Directors (BIFD), and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), reflecting their commitment to professional standards and compassionate care.
