About

In addition to providing all modern and traditional facilities we have adjoining our funeral home, the Christchurch Ceremony Hall, which can comfortably accommodate up to 40 mourners in fully air-conditioned comfort and the convenience of being situated in the centre of Christchurch. We have some free car parking for visitors and private chapels of rest within the funeral home.

What families say

"Being able to hold the service in Christchurch ceremony hall instead of a crematorium was exactly what we wanted, although on day 1 we didn't even know it was an option. After a tailored service the room was reset for refreshments — there was no other funeral there that day so it felt very personal."

— Jackie Dawson

"Chris putting it all together with pictures for the slideshow including a background picture of dad's favourite airplane, which was very touching. Thank you for making an extremely difficult time a little less stressful with the perfect send off for dad."

— Carol Barlow (about Chris)

"From the first phone call, to collecting mum's ashes, we felt in very safe hands with Tappers. They demonstrated professionalism and compassion in their ability to listen, to make you feel ok, to know when to offer expert advice."

— Jackie Dawson (about Chris)

"Jessica and the team made my Dad's funeral completely stress free for me and my elderly Mum. The funeral staff on the day took such great care with Mum, and pitched their engagement with her perfectly and with good humour."

— Sarah-Louise Thomas (about Jessica)

"They went above and beyond to help us achieve the greatest send off for our WW2 veteran dad; taking the initiative in reaching out to military networks and honouring our every wish. Jessica is a very special person and I would not hesitate to recommend her in taking care of your loved ones."

— Chrissie (about Jessica)

"Jessica has been kind, understanding, patient and compassionate throughout and knowing she is there to oversee everything has been so reassuring. We have had to use their services twice in the past year and the family have taken great comfort in knowing that Jessica and the team have been in charge."

Tapper's Christchurch have been excellent for us and whilst sadly we have had to use their services twice in the past year the family have taken great comfort in knowing that Jessica and the team have been in charge of making all arrangements and managing the funerals from start too finish. Jessica has been kind, understanding, patient and compassionate throughout and knowing she is there to oversee everything has been so reassuring. I could not recommend Tapper's enough having made a great impression in our very first meeting through to the services and right up to the end of both of our family funerals. Thank you so much!

Jessica and the team at Christchurch made my Dad's funeral completely stress free for me and my elderly Mum. Nothing was too much and they understood and facilitated the simple approach we wanted with care, compassion and cheerfulness ( this was a celebration of 96 year life) . Jessica's choice of Celebrant was perfect and the funeral staff on the day took such great care with Mum, and pitched their engagement with her perfectly ( and with good humour) . Thank you ❤️

From the first phone call, to collecting mum's ashes, we felt in very safe hands with Tappers. They demonstrated professionalism and compassion in their ability to listen, to make you feel ok, to know when to offer expert advice, to answer questions with patience and so much more. Being able to hold the service in Christchurch ceremony hall instead of a crematorium was exactly what we wanted, although on day 1 we didn't even know it was an option. After a tailored service, ably put together and delivered by Ellie, the room was reset for us to have refreshments and chat. There was no other funeral there that day so it felt very personal. We would highly recommend the company and our thanks to Chris and his team.

I honestly could not have asked for anyone better to guide us through such a difficult time. From the very first moment, Jessica was compassionate, understanding, and truly took the time to listen to what my family and I wanted for our dad’s funeral. Jessica went above and beyond to make the service personal and meaningful, tailoring every detail so it reflected him perfectly. What really stood out was Jessica’s kindness and sensitivity and nothing was ever too much trouble, and she made us feel supported every step of the way. She also provided us with a range of financial options, explaining them clearly so we could make choices that were right for us without feeling pressured. Thanks to Jessica’s dedication and care, we were able to give our dad the farewell he deserved. I will always be grateful for her help during such an a sad time, and I cannot recommend Jessica highly enough.

My family and i would like to thank Chris and the team at Tappers Christchurch, for guiding and supporting us with dads funeral. Everyone was professional, caring and friendly, nothing was too much trouble including all the questions we had. The celebrant (Sue Huggins) guided us with the order of service, chosing the music etc with Chris putting it all together with pictures for the slideshow including a background picture of dads favourite airplane, which was very touching. Thank you for for making an extremely difficult time a little less stressful with the perfect send off for dad. We would highly recommend Chris & the team at Christchurch.
