Thomas Cuthell and Sons is a family-run funeral director serving the Forth Valley community since 1905. The Bo'ness branch holds a special place in the company's history, as it was the very first premises occupied by Thomas Cuthell and Sons — originally operating from the family home before dedicated facilities were established on Bridgeness Road. Over the decades, the Bo'ness funeral home has been continually developed: a service room and rest rooms were added in the 1970s, and throughout the 1980s the joinery side of the business was phased out to allow full focus on funeral directing.
Today, the Bo'ness premises feature a service room with seating for around 70 people, a waiting room, offices, meeting rooms, and a private rest room. The site also houses the company's fleet of funeral vehicles, a purpose-built indoor wash bay, coffin storage, and a dedicated memorial workshop where in-house sculptors can assist clients with new or existing headstones. Each coffin is individually furnished by hand at this location. Two administration staff are on hand Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, to assist with funeral and memorial enquiries.
Now in its fifth generation of family ownership, Thomas Cuthell and Sons is guided by the core values of compassion, integrity, and respect — the same principles upon which Thomas Cuthell founded the business over 115 years ago. The company is affiliated with leading trade associations including NAFD, NAMM, SAIF, and SIFH.
