W Sherry & Sons Funeral Directors has been serving the local community since 1850, making it one of the most established funeral directors in West London and the surrounding areas. The Ickenham branch, located at 4 Long Lane, is part of a network of nine branches operated by the sixth and seventh generations of the Sherry family, Neil and Brooke Sherry, who currently serve as Business Principals. The company is a founder member of the National Association of Funeral Directors and is the appointed funeral director for several London Boroughs.
The Ickenham branch is known for its compassionate and professional service, with staff going above and beyond to support families during difficult times. The branch is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and offers a comprehensive range of funeral services including cremations, burials, green and woodland funerals, unattended cremations, and repatriation. Prepaid funeral plans are also available to help families plan ahead.
The team at Ickenham, including Nicky Sims who has been specifically praised by families for her support and guidance, reflects the caring ethos that W Sherry & Sons has maintained throughout its long history. As part of Funeral Partners Limited, the branch combines local heritage with professional support to ensure every family receives the highest standard of care.
"Having to arrange a funeral during normal circumstances is emotionally difficult but during a pandemic it's incredibly challenging. However, W Sherry & Sons in Uxbridge delivered a level of service that was unsurpassed. From my first phonecall to the interment at Northwood Cemetery we were treated with kind compassion, patience and genuine warmth."
— Sharon Gardner
"As overwhelming as planning a loved one's funeral can be, we felt we were in safe hands with Nicky from the first time we met her. We were able to give our loved one the send off she truly deserved thanks to all of you. You made a very difficult time a little easier."
— Malin Roberts (about Nicky)
"Nicky Sims was really wonderful in guiding us through the whole process. Her warmth, caring and beautiful nature make the whole experience so much easier to deal with. At all times we never had any worries, which was much appreciated."
— PETER BRYANT (about Nicky Sims)
"Outstanding service from beginning to end. They dealt with the celebrant taken ill 2 days before the funeral and the stand in at short notice was excellent. Nicky also negotiated the family difficulties with great sensitivity. Absolutely first class team to support us throughout a difficult time."
— Julia Robson (about Nicky)
"Nicky Sims, the Branch Manager, was absolutely wonderful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. She made a very hard time much easier for our family. This is not the first time we have used W Sherry & Sons – in fact we have used them three other times previously – and every time their service has been exceptional. That's exactly why we return to them. We genuinely wouldn't go anywhere else."
— Amanda Fairclough (about Nicky Sims)

Nicky did so much more than we expected and supported every single one of us the whole way through. We will never be able to thank you enough. Nicky, you truly are one in a million."

Nicky in the Ickenham shop was fantastic, and supported us all the way, advised and ensured the funeral was all my Mum would have expected and enjoyed. Thanks Nicky it was so appreciated. Neil lead the funeral for us and his involvement was very much appreciated. He conducted it in the same way he had for our Father and I cannot recommend Sherrys enough. I would say I do hope not to see you again LOL. Thanks to all of the team for doing mum proud.

We recently used W Sherry & Sons Funeral Directors – Ickenham branch – and we (Angela Marek and family) cannot recommend them highly enough. During such a difficult time, the care, professionalism and kindness shown to our family was truly exceptional. Nicky Sims, the Branch Manager, was absolutely wonderful. Nothing was ever too much trouble – she was incredibly accommodating, supportive and so friendly while still being completely professional. She made a very hard time much easier for our family and ensured every detail was taken care of. Nicky organised everything seamlessly, including arranging the bearers at both ends, and kept everything running smoothly from start to finish. Our funeral director on the day, David Murray, was equally outstanding. He was kind, respectful and attentive throughout. The journey from Hillingdon to Gloucestershire was handled perfectly – the convoy ran smoothly and we felt completely looked after the entire way. David and the team were also incredibly supportive during the church service and again at the burial after a long journey. Every step of the way they followed our family’s wishes with the utmost respect and care. This is not the first time we have used W Sherry & Sons – in fact we have used them three other times previously – and every time their service has been exceptional. That’s exactly why we return to them. We genuinely wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you to Nicky, David and the whole team for providing such an incredible service when it mattered most - from Angela and family.

The service from start to finish was absolutely 5-star! Nicky’s communication was brilliant throughout, and the rest of the team was just as excellent. I met Andy on the day, and he also contacted me beforehand. They could not have been more helpful. A massive thank you to all of you!

I can't put into words how amazing the service from Sherry and sons has been. Totally professional, helpful in every way. Nicky is so kind and caring and 100% good at her job. David was also lovely and so caring. Even when my shoe fell apart (long story) 🙂 thank you x
