Alistair Turner Funeral Directors has been serving the communities of Alnwick, Amble, Rothbury and surrounding areas for generations, with roots stretching back to 1922. The family business was originally founded by David Cockburn, a joiner and cabinet-maker who extended his trade to include coffin-making and, eventually, full funeral arrangements. His nephew George built upon this legacy, earning a reputation as the trusted Alnwick Undertaker until his passing in 1992, when George's nephew Alistair Turner took over the business.
Alistair expanded the enterprise significantly, commissioning purpose-built premises at Greensfield Park in Alnwick in 1996, rebranding the business under his own name in 2005, and acquiring additional offices in Amble and Rothbury the following year. Seeking a worthy successor who shared his family values, Alistair joined forces with William Purves, a multi-generational family funeral business with over 100 years of experience.
Today, Alistair Turner Funeral Directors operates from its Alnwick branch at Garden Lodge, Greenwell Road, offering compassionate, professional care available 24 hours a day. The team upholds the core values of compassion, dedication, integrity and respect, continuing a proud tradition of supporting bereaved families with truly distinct and personalised funeral services.
