Blackwells of Cricklade is an independent funeral director based in Thames House, Thames Lane, Cricklade, Wiltshire, with over 100 years of experience serving families across Wiltshire and the surrounding counties. Established in 1916 by the Blackwell family, the business has built a long-standing reputation for providing compassionate, professional and personalised funeral services to the local community. Directors Nigel Keen and Robert Orford, who became funeral directors in 1995, have been instrumental in shaping the company's commitment to exceptional customer service and attention to detail.
Blackwells offers a comprehensive range of funeral services, including handling all legal and administrative arrangements, care of the deceased, a modern Mercedes limousine fleet, a wide selection of coffins and caskets — from traditional solid wood to eco-friendly wicker and cardboard options — as well as memorials and headstones. Catering for mourners after the funeral can also be arranged if required.
The team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and arrangements can be made in the comfort of a family's home or at the Cricklade premises. Blackwells also offers prepaid funeral plans in partnership with Golden Charter, one of the UK's largest funeral plan providers, giving families the option to plan ahead with confidence.
