With funeral homes extending across East Dorset and West Hampshire, the company has been helping bereaved local families since 1904, combining every modern facility with traditional standards and values.
The New Milton branch at 51–53 Old Milton Road forms part of this trusted network, serving the local community with the same dedication and care that has defined Tapper Funeral Service for over a century. Their funeral directors are among the most experienced in their field, many bringing career-long local knowledge to a service the company believes is second to none.

As part of a wider group that also operates the Harbour View crematorium and woodland burial ground, they are well placed to offer a comprehensive range of funeral options to the families of New Milton and the surrounding West Hampshire area.
"Caroline is outstanding — her attention to detail and care shown is a gift nobody can be trained for. Having had to arrange several funerals in the past, this was by far the best, all because of Caroline and the team."
— Karen Milsom (about Caroline)
"Anna is a genius with words and delivered an incredible service, full of compassion and care. Following input and instruction from the family, along with photographs and music, she delivered a lovely celebration of the life of our lost loved one. This is a company full of expertise and genuine compassion, dignity and care."
— Stephen Walker (about Anna)
"My brother and I lost our mum unexpectedly, and Caroline supported us with so much care and compassion throughout the entire process. She went above and beyond to make an incredibly difficult time feel more manageable. We were able to give our mum a colourful, positive funeral that really reflected who she was and exactly what she would have wanted."
— Hannah Edmonds (about Caroline)
"5 stars are not enough for this company and especially Jack and Caroline, two of the nicest people with massive hearts. From collecting my father from Southampton and looking after him to the actual cremation, their care did not go unnoticed, and nothing was too much trouble. That's exactly how they made us feel — like we were part of their family."
— Rachael Bree (about Caroline)
"Caroline looked immaculate, was calm and had so much empathy in her heart. The caring way she led him into Chapel was so moving and the care continued after the service, she was professional but caring beyond caring. Her closing words of comfort to him could not have been more perfect and I found her natural ability of making me feel that everything was going to be OK, was heart-warming. I will never forget your kindness and support helping me through a very difficult and emotional time."
— June Flower (about Caroline)
"As parents we have had to do the most hardest thing, during such a huge difficult emotionally time. Their compassion, support and professionalism was a great comfort. Caroline went above and beyond ensuring our son had the very best send off. Taking us through every step. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her. Thank you so much for taking care of our son Nathan."

I can not thank Caroline and team for the way they made us feel at ease when first walking through the door. Caroline, on first meeting was fantastic, very professional, caring, we couldn't of asked for anything more. She arranged for us to meet Anna, another truly kind, caring lady who made us feel at ease through a difficult time. You did our dad proud and I couldn't thank you enough! I will always highly recommend your services. And we will always thank you Caroline and team for your kindness and support x

Amazing service from start to finish. My brother and I lost our mum unexpectedly, and Caroline supported us with so much care and compassion throughout the entire process. She went above and beyond to make an incredibly difficult time feel more manageable, and we're so grateful for everything she did for us. Anna was also wonderful and put a huge amount of care and attention into detail into her speeches and the process. The whole team made us feel supported and cared for. We were able to give our mum a colourful, positive funeral that really reflected who she was and exactly what she would have wanted. Thank you all so much.

Well where do I start on one of the hardest things I have ever done, my father passed away in March. Jack and Caroline have been excellent all the way through and guiding us every step of the way with the up most care and consideration. From start to finish they could not have done more for us as a family and that's exactly how they made us feel like we were part of there family. From collecting my father from Southampton and looking after him to the actual cremation, there care did not go unnoticed, and nothing was to much trouble. 5 stars are not enough for this company and especially Jack and Caroline, two of the nicest people with massive hearts, who are excellent and you do not feel like your a number. Professional, reliable, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Communication was clear and prompt, and everything was handled with genuine care and attention to detail. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated to delivering excellent service. Highly recommended and would happily use again in the future! Once again can not THANK YOU ENOUGH lots of love Cherie, Sean, Rachael Bree

Service led by Caroline and Anna. It was a 2 hour service and difficult to organise, but nothing was too much trouble for Caroline and Anna. They were both always there for me and putting my mind at rest and words cannot express how grateful I am to both of them for making such a sad occasion so perfect for my late husband's farewell. Caroline looked immaculate, was calm and had so much empathy in her heart. The caring way she led him into Chapel was so moving and the care continued after the service, she was professional but caring beyond caring. Anna was the celebrant and was so very special and her professionalism also shone through the whole service. The way she presented herself, her elegance and respect was given so graciously through the whole service. The way she presented herself, her elegance and respect given so graciously through the whole experience of planning his service made the process so much easier for me. Her closing words of comfort to him could not have been more perfect and I found her natural ability of making me feel that everything was going to be OK, was heart-warming. I will never forget your kindness and support helping me through a very difficult and emotional time. Thank you both so much. I cannot recommend Caroline and Anna enough.

From the time we walked through the front door the service was absolutely second to none. Caroline is outstanding her attention to detail & care shown is a gift nobody can be trained for this type of service. Mike the celebrant made the short service so personal and his gift of directing personal details to my uncles wife was exceptional. Having had to arrange several funerals in the past this was by far the best all because of Caroline & the team. We went in again today to pay the balance and collect the Ashes & again she gave us as much time as was needed. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company. Thank you Caroline & the team.
