Country Funerals is an independent, female-led funeral directors based in a tranquil converted barn in the picturesque Kent village of Westwell, Ashford. As a true family-owned undertakers, they are dedicated to offering a personal and caring service at the highest standard, providing the best possible funeral for loved ones whilst delivering a meaningful and unique service to each family they support.
Upon initial contact, families are greeted by one of Country Funerals' highly experienced lady funeral directors, who guides them through every step of arranging a funeral. The same funeral director remains the family's point of contact from the first call through to the conclusion of the service, ensuring consistency, compassion, and continuity of care. Their peaceful, private chapel of rest allows families to spend time with their loved ones, with visits available outside of working hours by appointment.
A member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), Country Funerals is highly recommended by its clients and proud to offer a range of tailored funeral services — including direct personal funerals and simple funerals — with the personal touch only available from independent providers. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"From our first phone call to them the day our mother died, Frances and Leah and their team were simply superb. We couldn't have asked for more support, guidance, professionalism, empathy, eye for detail and help with organising the family only cremation service and thanksgiving service for over 300 on the same day. We are more grateful than they could ever know."
— L C (about Frances)
"Country Funerals have just made a horrendous situation into a celebration of my father in law's achievements throughout his life. Thank you Leah for your personal touch and for looking after him so well whilst he was in your care."
— Cliff Raggett (about Leah)
"We felt comforted knowing that our loved one stayed with you the whole time. We felt supported throughout the funeral planning when we really had no idea where to even begin!"
— Livy Morrissey (about Leah)
"They gave us the honour of being pall bearers under Graham's tutelage, something my brother and I will treasure. They arranged for Mum's collection from her care home some 25 miles away despite having two other funerals on that day. The whole process removed any stress we may have felt at this sad time."
— Paul Finn (about Graham)
"Losing my mum was the most heart-wrenching experience of my life, and I truly don't know how I would have navigated that time without the incredible support of Frances, Leah, Graham and the whole team. Their calm presence and quiet strength gave us a sense of peace when everything felt like it was falling apart."
— Katharine Toke-Nichols (about Frances)
"Frances understood our needs for our daughter's farewell... I can honestly say that every thought, feeling and emotion was considered. You carried our family through the loss of our amazing daughter, who will always remain one of the greatest blessings of our life. Country Funerals - 'second to none' and beyond commendable - from the bottom of all our hearts, thank you!"
— Jane Romero (about Frances)
