D Watters Funeral Services is an independent, family-owned funeral business based at 55 Main Street, Tobermore, Magherafelt, serving the surrounding areas including Maghera, Desertmartin, Draperstown, Moneymore, Coagh, and Cookstown. Established in 1967 by Desmond and Marion Watters, the business has over 58 years of experience serving the local community in times of bereavement, delivering funerals with a high degree of attention to detail and dignity. Desmond sadly passed away in February 2021, but his legacy continues through the family business he built.
Helen Badger N.A.F.D., Dip.F.D., B.I.E., Desmond's daughter, joined as a partner in 2005 and leads the business today alongside her daughter Kristy, who became a partner in 2021 following her BSc (Honours) Nursing Degree and became a Qualified Member of the B.I.E. in December 2025. The team provides a professional, caring, and dignified 24-hour service, offering personalised advice and compassionate support before, during, and after every funeral.
The funeral premises feature a reception room, private arrangement room, office, refurbished funeral home, private viewing rooms, coffin selection room, modern mortuary, and car parking facilities. D Watters Funeral Services holds membership with the National Association of Funeral Directors and the British Institute of Embalmers, reflecting their commitment to the highest professional standards.
