Farthing Funeral Service has been proudly serving the local communities of Suffolk since 1840, making it one of the longest-established funeral service providers in the region. The roots of the business trace back to Edward S Singleton, who began trading on Woodbridge Road in Ipswich. Over the decades, the business evolved and united with Hastings & Son, eventually becoming Singleton & Hastings under the leadership of the Farthing family, whose involvement in the area began in Felixstowe from 1950. Today, the Debenham branch at 44 Aspall Road is one of four funeral homes operated by Farthing Funeral Service across Suffolk.
The team at the Debenham branch is committed to creating tailored funerals that reflect the unique life of each loved one. They believe that everyone should have the opportunity to be aware of the choices available when arranging a funeral, ensuring services are meaningful and individual. The team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by telephone, and can also arrange home visits for those who prefer a more personal consultation.
Farthing Funeral Service offers a comprehensive range of services including cremations, burials, green and woodland funerals, unattended cremations, and repatriation. They also provide prepaid funeral plans through Choice, helping families plan ahead and protect against rising costs. Now part of Funeral Partners Limited, the branch continues to uphold its long-standing heritage and reputation within the local community.
