Harpin's Funeral Service has been a trusted name in the Wakefield and surrounding areas for over 90 years, with roots stretching back to 1932 when Leonard and Vera Harpin began their journey in the funeral industry. What started with a single Rolls Royce grew into a fleet of two hearses and thirteen limousines, serving not only funeral work but also weddings and other occasions. Leonard and Vera's fourteen children and numerous friends helped build the business from the ground up, and today their grandchildren, Sean and Sara, continue that proud family legacy as Senior Funeral Director and Business Principal respectively.
The Horbury branch, located at 83 Cluntergate, is one of several funeral homes operated by Harpin's across the region, alongside branches in Wakefield, Outwood, and Normanton. The team is dedicated to creating tailored funerals that reflect the unique life of each individual, offering a compassionate and professional service at every step.
Harpin's Funeral Service offers a comprehensive range of services including cremations, burials, green and woodland funerals, unattended cremations, and repatriation. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can also visit families at home to discuss arrangements.
