Tall, smart, and composed, they carried themselves exactly as you would hope on such an important day. The cars were immaculate – the black and burgundy colour was stunning, and their matching suits made everything look beautifully coordinated. Their kindness, care, and respect shone through in every moment. They gave my dad the dignity he truly deserved. The flowers were beautiful and abundant, exactly what we had hoped for. Every detail was handled with professionalism and ease. There was no pressure to buy anything extra and never any sense of being rushed. Everything was arranged smoothly, sensitively, and with the utmost respect. We couldn’t have asked for better service.

Thank you to Elaine at St. Albans Burgess for her unhurried help & support to my brother & me as we navigated organising my husbands funeral. She was so patience as we discussed his wishes. I changed my mind several times over the next couple of weeks pre funeral about certain orders of his Celebration of Life. Which Elaine took in her stride. The Celebrant Charlotte Ruscow, of our choosing was free & they worked well together. For an upbeat, although tearful occassion. Enhanced by the slide show during the music for reflections, which made his life real. Thanks to Mr Burgess & staff on the day, who made sure along with family that I was safe, helping me in & out of the car. I am disabled & the shock of his death hit my legs which felt like they did not belong to me. Bringing the flowers back home was a no fuss affair. We were treated with respect, understanding, unrushed & with care for us all, including my husband. Thank you. His Celebration of Life was all that he & we wanted & more.

Location was exactly what the deceased wanted, but it could have been a challenge. J J Burgess & Sons Elaine Groves was most helpful and we found the perfect resting place for my step-mother. The funeral was very well managed and perfect for our small group. Everything was carried out with precision and compassion. Many thanks for all you help and guidance.

Sadly our Uncle passed away. My dad got in touch on my request as he had already dealt with them, organising his funeral with me with him. Helen was amazing. Always at the end of the phone to help with any queries. To say this was a frustrating time for family is an understatement, but Helen helped us through every stage. All staff were very polite and empathetic. We had a Leeds theme in colours of the coffin bearers. They all looked lovely. It made a difficult day a lot better. Thank you all at JJ Burgess for everything you did for us and especially Uncle Ray
