Le Roy Funeral Services in Crediton is a branch of the long-established independent family business founded in 1950 by Mr Stanley Le Roy Priaulx. The Crediton branch, located at 94/95 High Street, was opened in September 2000 when the Wreford family — who live locally in Crediton — purchased the former Gospel Hall and Mitchell's Bakery premises and converted them into modern offices with full facilities to serve the local community.
The business has been run by the Wreford family for decades, with Martin Wreford becoming manager in 1968 and purchasing the business in 1974. His sons Andrew and Nicholas, along with the wider dedicated team, continue to uphold the family's commitment to providing a friendly, courteous, and professional service. The Crediton office offers the same comprehensive range of services as the other branches, including traditional funerals, simple funerals, and direct cremation, as well as funeral planning through Golden Charter.
Le Roy Funeral Services prides itself on being community-minded, supporting local organisations such as Crediton Rugby Club, Crediton United AFC, Crediton Bowling Club, and Sandford Cricket Club, among others.
