Nicholas O'Hara Funeral Directors has been serving the communities of Dorset, Bournemouth, and Poole since 1974, when the company was founded by Nicholas O'Hara alongside his parents Pat and Brenda. The business has remained a family affair, with Nicholas's wife Jackie and their children Anthony and Natalie continuing to serve as Business Principals. The Ferndown branch is located at 493 Ringwood Road and can be reached at 01202 924761, providing the same high standard of care as all their locations.
At Nicholas O'Hara Funeral Directors, the team believes in maintaining the highest levels of service in all areas of the business — from caring for the deceased to assisting and advising the bereaved with sensitivity and compassion. They understand that a funeral holds a special place in memory, and so pay careful attention to every detail and request to create a meaningful day for those lost and those who mourn.
The branch offers a comprehensive range of funeral services, including cremations, burials, unattended cremations, repatriation, memorial masonry, and more. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and are happy to discuss arrangements at the funeral home or in the comfort of your own home. As part of Funeral Partners Limited, Nicholas O'Hara Funeral Directors combines the warmth of a family-run business with the resources of a wider professional network.
"The funeral was a simple celebration of a long life and was the highlight of a sad time. Their motto of 'our family is here for your family' perfectly sums them up."
— Shane Cherrett (about Anna)
"It seems strange to say it for a funeral but it was a pleasure to have him lead us through what we had to do. He was superb - compassionate, thoughtful, organised, all in a very sensitive, understated way. I can't thank him enough."
— BMS (about Anthony O'Hara)
"From the moment I met Simon I knew that my Dad was in safe hands and would be receiving the highest level of care, dignity and respect. This wonderful family business gives an exceptionally high level of service not only to your loved one, but to the wider family too."
— Lorraine (about Simon Ives)
"He was wonderful, kind and compassionate, visiting me at home and guiding me through the process. Jon personally delivered the casket with her ashes for me to inter with my father and brother in Bristol. The service provided was perfect, caring and tailored to my wishes and circumstances."
— Dawn Locke (about Jon Austin)
"They done a lovely service for our baby who we sadly lost. The compassion care and love they put in is so comforting."

"From the moment Philip arrived to collect my beautiful Mum from her home to take her into their care, the professionalism I experienced was second to none. Everyone who attended the funeral or watched via webcast said it was the most beautiful service they had ever seen. Your family were absolutely there for my family and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

The team at the West Moors office were excellent. Thanks to Philip for the planning, backed up by Teresa and Natalie. Neil Prince was friendly and helpful as celebrant. Philip and his pall bearers were immaculately turned out on the day.

After a very positive experience back in June 2010 when we entrusted this organisation to look after our father's funeral arrangements, we had absolutely no hesitation in using their services once again for our mother's funeral in September this year. We used the local West Moors Branch and Rory and his team accommodated all our wishes in a very professional, dignified and sensitive way. All the help and support we received at this difficult and emotional time for us was most appreciated and our expectations on the day were met in full. We strongly recommend this Funeral Directors to others if you are looking for a very professional organisation with experience and high standards to address your needs and meet your expectations for your loved one.

My lovely mum died in September and the Care Home recommended Nicholas OHara's in West Moors and I am so glad I took this advice. The person who made the arrangements for mum was Jon Austin . He was wonderful, - kind and compassionate, visiting me at home and guiding me through the process of an unattended cremation. He arranged the casket, flowers and music, and kept me informed informed all the time. I knew mum would be treated with the dignity and respect she deserved. . Following the cremation ,Natasha helped me get a lovely booklet produced to commemorate mum's long life. Jon personally delivered the casket with her ashes for me to inter with my father and brother in Bristol. The service provided by O'Hara's was perfect, caring and tailored to my wishes and circumstances.

I would like to extend the biggest thank you to Simon Ives, along with his colleague Rory Craig, who recently arranged my dearest Dad’s funeral. From the moment I met Simon I knew that my Dad was in safe hands and would be receiving the highest level of care, dignity and respect. This wonderful family business gives an exceptionally high level of service not only to your loved one, but to the wider family too.
