From the time my sister passed away, we knew she was in safe hands with The Shires. We used the same company for my parents, nothing is too much trouble, every wish is accommodated and carried out with care and compassion, and sensitivity. I cant recommend The Shires highly enough.

We do not have enough kind words to say about Shires. Losing my dad during the height of Covid was traumatic enough without speaking to many funeral directors who were not prepared to give my dad a dignified send off.Leading with compassion rather than fear at a time of uncertainty Shires were amazingly sympathetic throughout and gave us incredible support and guidance when needed.Mum and I were not allowed to visit my dad in the hospital and no other directors were offering viewings for Covid patients. Shires dressed my dad beautifully and allowed us two at a time to say our final goodbyes, seeing my dad’s face one last time is a gift I cannot repay and I am forever grateful.In spite of the tight restrictions at the time, the funeral was utterly beautiful. The order of service was personalised and professional, we were able to play voice note from my dad’s brother and sister who could not make it and all of our wishes and suggestions big or small were met and exceeded. Shires recorded the Chapel service on the day and it was live-streamed to selected friends and family all over the world so they could be there with us at the time and we were able to download it to watch anytime. With a 20 people service this was an extremely important detail, as family and friends phoned after the ceremony to say they heard every word and felt every emotion with us.The staff at Shires truly make the company, from the very first phone call to the last, they were so caring and understanding. Donna even cried with me in the office. In their hands, my dad’s life was valued and my mum and I cannot thank them enough.
