What families say

"We felt that we were in safe hands, and things went smoothly."

— Richard Fletcher

"Staveley Co-op Funeralcare and Jo have been 1st class from start to finish. Can't fault them — keep up the good work Jo and co, and thanks again for your support and help."

— Carol Newman (about Jo)

"Thank you Jo and Mel for making what is the hardest thing a little easier. They even supported my own ideas of things I wanted to make for my mum. I knew that if I needed to talk I could go there and sit with them and that meant the world."

— Gemma Taylor (about Jo)

"I came out of there feeling so much more relief than I had experienced elsewhere. It wasn't about financial gain. She made numerous calls giving us all the information we needed in a format that we wanted it in. We were given the exact type of funeral we wanted — it was tailored and competitive in price."

— Lainey Waddoups (about Jo)

"She offered to stay behind after hours on Christmas Eve to arrange for my mum to arrive in their care before the Christmas period, to give our family some comfort. You just cannot train someone to deliver an emotion that real, it comes so natural to some people, she cared."

— Lainey Waddoups (about Jo)

"Jo even came in on her day off to allow my dad to go and that is what makes her so special. You can genuinely see it isn't just a job to her. They genuinely care and want to help you make sure everything is how you want. For my dad it was important he could see my mum daily and this was catered for at every step with a cup of coffee on the make when he came in."

— Gemma Taylor (about Jo)

Jo and Mel are a credit to you as a company. We have just had to go through the hardest time of our lives after loosing our beautiful mum and the most loving wife. It's a time you know one day will come but never expect it so soon. Jo was so kind and patient and although what they do is a business it isn't like that. They genuinely care and want to help you make sure everything is how you want. For my dad it was important he could see my mum daily and this was catered for at every step with Mel and Jo with a cup of coffee on the make when he came in. They made the process a little easier for my dad by sitting with him and asking how he was. They even supported my own ideas of things I wanted to make for my mum. I knew that if I needed to talk I could go there and sit with them and that meant the world. Jo even came in on her day off to allow my dad to go and that is what makes her so special. You can genuinely see it isn't just a Job to her. I also want to say thank you to Ash and his team. You made sure everything went as it should on the day and your vehicles were so pristene and well cared for my mum couldnt have been in better hands. Thank you Jo and Mel for making what is the hardest thing a little easier. If the world was full of people like you two it would be a much better place xx

It is the first time I've been in the unfortunate position of organising a funeral and recently losing my dear mum brought a whole heap of emotions for me and my family. My mum was a private person who never asked for anything for herself, the least I could do was arrange to give her what she asked for at the end of her life. After briefly dealing with another local FD and making the decision to move mum from their care, I approached Co-op late Christmas Eve. I dealt with Jo, an amazing lady.. She is professional and compassionate, she is an absolute breath of fresh air. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She offered to stay behind after hours on Christmas Eve to arrange for my mum to arrive in their care before the Christmas period, to give our family some comfort after our previous experience. She made numerous calls giving us all the information we needed in a format that we wanted it in. We were given the exact type of funeral we wanted for mum and mum wanted, it was tailored and it was competative in price. We weren't paying for anything we didn't need. It is a business, and they have a job to do but you just cannot train someone to deliver an emotion that real, it comes so natural to some people, she cared. It wasn't about financial gain that I had felt previously. I came out of there feeling so much more relief than I had experienced elsewhere. The professionalism didn't end there, they were fantastic on the day, well organised and compassionate. I hope my mum was v. happy, I'm sure she would have been. Thank you Jo, Thank you Co-Op x
