WH Putnam was founded in Edgeware in 1929 by William Henry Putnam. His grandchildren, Keith and Alana Putnam worked in the business for more than 40 years. In 1950, a second funeral home was opened in Streathfield Road, Stanmore, Harrow, where Keith and Alana grew up living above the premises.

"Cassie, you took great care of us when we came to see you as a family the next day and gave us all the time we needed, guiding us every step of the way. You are an extraordinary person and your kindness that day and with all of our interactions with you won't be forgotten. It takes special people to do what you all do, and it's been quite humbling."

Honestly, my experience with Putnams and the team was amazing. Especially Cass and Shane, who were my absolute rocks. They took the stress out of a very stressful time and were there any time I needed anything, and ensured that everything ran perfectly. I also knew that my loved one was being taken care of, with dignity and respect, and that in itself meant the absolute world. In a difficult and painful time I felt as much at ease as I could. Thank you all so much x

Sophie in the Harrow branch was lovely; she took time to explain the process, charges and all aspects of the funeral and managed to arrange a date that suited us.
