I sadly could not attend my Nans funeral as she lived 4 hours away and we decided not to take the risk with COVID. We did watch it via live stream at an extra cost. The quality of the stream is disappointing. It’s like watching on a cctv camera. There is no zoom, so you watch from a distance and they don’t zoom into the celebrant. The stream starts very suddenly and not until the funeral has actually started, then at the end it cuts of suddenly before the mourners have left the room. It was hard enough not being there, the lack of these small things made it very hard to watch. Our ring doorbell has better video quality. Just want other mourners to be prepared it isn’t so nice. When my dad spoke to the funeral home they were very blasé and just said we start when we start and it ends when the curtain closes. Didn’t see, to care at all. They charge an extra amount for a downloadable version which we wanted for my nans sister who is to elderly to attend. My husband has done his best to make that a little less severe to watch for her.

A deep felt thanks to Barry and Joan for arranging my step dad's funeral. We approached Wakefield Funeral Services from the reviews below mine, we were lost, didn't know what to do and experiencing all things a family goes through after losing a loved one.Barry was so compassionate and visited our home at every stage of the process, even to run the small things by us. He explained the process with due care and diligence, was patient and almost felt like a long lost friend of the family. There was nothing he wouldn't do for us. Everything from the viewing to the funeral procession was comforting, respectful and dignified. Barry also recommended Sarah Renton who conducted our beautiful service. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done for us, it was perfect. The Hemingway family.

The Cremation of my mum was handled with all the care and attention I needed. The team at Wakefield Funeral Services we’re very caring and helpfully in every way I could think of. Top rate service throughout by Barry and the team thank you.10 out of 10 on every aspect of the proceedings even told us he would open up out of normal working hours for family and friends to go to chapel of rest because of the bank holiday weekend being in middle of the proceedings.

Wakefield Funeral Services offered an excellent and very personal service for my late mum and our family. Barry's attention to detail was 'second to none', which is much needed in these stressful and emotional circumstances. I fully recommend their services and Barry Normanton in particular!

We cannot express how wonderful Wakefield funeral services have been. From the very start Barry Normington was there to guide, support and look after the us and in particular our beloved Sam. Nothing was too much trouble and every detail was dealt with the utmost consideration , dignity and respect. At this most difficult time we felt reassured throughout. Barry and the lovely people at Wakefield Funeral Services provided a wonderful and personal service which they have continued to do so even afterwards. The family would just like to wish our love and gratitude to the people at Wakefield FuneralServices and in particular Barry Normington for your utmost professionalism but especially how lovingly and respectfully you have looked after Sam.
