Eaves Funeral Service has been proudly serving the local communities of Whitehaven and Cumbria for over 60 years. Established in 1961 by business partners Derek Crosby and William Eaves, who began trading as joiners and undertakers under the name 'Crosby & Eaves' from premises at Flatt Walks, Whitehaven. The business moved to its current location on High Road, Kells, Whitehaven in 1970, and has remained a trusted presence in the community ever since, growing through generations of the Eaves family.
Following Derek Crosby's passing in 1974, William Eaves continued to build the business with the support of his wife Margaret and father William Snr, later joined by his brother Richard. The family tradition continued with William's son Philip joining in 1992, son-in-law Mike in 2007, and daughter Julia in 2008. Now part of Funeral Partners Limited, Eaves Funeral Service continues to uphold its heritage and reputation for professionalism, kindness, and dignity.
The dedicated team at the Whitehaven funeral home is committed to creating tailored funerals that reflect the unique life of each loved one. They offer a full range of services including cremations, burials, green and woodland funerals, unattended cremations, and repatriation, and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I was very happy with all the services and support Eaves offered especially Laura who was so professional yet also I instantly felt at ease with her and she never made me feel like I was asking too many questions. This was my first time ever organising a funeral and I was unsure about some of the services and what they entailed and if we needed them but Laura was happy to explain what things were and was patient with me even with a last minute decision. Thank you Eaves and Laura for helping me organise the send off my Nana deserved.

Everyone was lovely I can't put it in to words how fantastic you all were, and very professional in every way. You were Always very helpful when I rang and your team would do anything they could if I had requested something I'm so happy of the fantastic send off my twin brother deserved and the last thing I could do for him to tell him how much I loved and will always love him for the rest of my life and that was all thanks to you all and I'll be forever grateful to you all.and I just want to say a big thank you to everyone of you and may god bless you all 😇🙏🏻 thank you for everything xxx

I have so much to say about this wonderful Service but it’s so much more than this. Laura Winthrop and her amazing Team were so professional from the beginning and onwards. Beautiful, kind and tentative towards my mum and treat mum like their own family. So much dignity, respect and overall, kindness, towards mum and myself. I was totally lost at what to do, but Laura’s reassurances the day they came for my mum, put me at ease straight away. I was so terrified and at such a hard time, the worst you will experience in your life, but Laura took all that away, gave me time to process my loss and held my hand every single step of the way. On the day of my mums funeral, they not only gave my mum so much love and dignity on her final journey but again helped guide me too. I could keep on writing and writing just how much I have valued Laura and her Team. I feel I’ve found an amazing new friend and now everything is over for mums care, they are still checking in on me and making sure everything is ok and looking after my mums after care. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend these wonderful Team x not just a Service, but become family 🌹 thank you doesn’t sound enough. Lots of love x Kathryn (Katie) x and Rose 🌹 my beautiful Mum

While arranging the funeral for my uncle I did meet a number of people at the premises but Laura and Michael were the people I dealt with directly, they were wonderful and made me feel comfortable and very supported and such friendly, approachable people.
