Thousands of families in Eastbourne have placed their trust in CPJ Field to help them following the death of a loved one. We are one of the oldest funeral directors in Eastbourne where you will find that we still occupy the site of our original 19th century offices on South Street.
We are here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
"Lee, Lou and Tanya made the whole process so much more bearable. No question was a stupid question. The day itself — because of the help and support they gave — was as close to being perfect as it could have been. Mum would be proud of the send off we gave her."
— Dean Piggott (about Lee)
"Lee and his whole team were amazing — they made what is normally a very hard time very bearable, with professionalism and a personal touch. They never tried to upsell us anything and accommodated my request for the Mercedes Hearse as that was my daddy's car!"
— shan gettens (about Lee)
"We are from an Indian background which means our funeral services are a bit different and they were keen to learn about our traditions, accommodated all our requests and answered any question we had. Every detail was handled with great care and respect, and they made the whole process as smooth and comforting as possible."
— Simna Sabu
"They were so thoughtful and caring towards the children in our family — making sure every single one of us was looked after and felt at ease. The never-ending supply of tissues, cups of tea and genuine empathy at every moment is something we will never forget. They go above and beyond, treating you like family and making such a difficult time a little easier to bear."
— Claire Zalman (about Lee)
"It's clear that this isn't just a job for them; it's a calling. We were deeply touched by the care shown not only to our family but to our loved one as well. Their empathy, organisation and heartfelt service brought us comfort and peace when we needed it most."
— Zoe Michelle Astridge
"Right from the start with a call made an hour before my Dad passed sat in Starbucks car park Lee was amazing. None of my ramblings fazed him and he was so good at explaining everything. The next few weeks were a blur, but Lee and the amazing ladies on the front were beyond helpful and genuinely made you feel like nothing was too much trouble. On the day everyone commented on what an amazing day it was and this was all down to Haine & Son."
— Tracie Wright (about Lee)

I cannot thank Lee and the whole team enough for the incredible care and kindness they showed us when arranging my auntie’s funeral. Not only were they supportive beyond words, but they were also so thoughtful and caring towards the children in our family — making sure every single one of us was looked after and felt at ease. They kept checking in with regular phone calls to see how we were doing, and their partner masonry team were absolutely incredible, standing by us and supporting us every step of the way too. Lee and his team took care of every detail — liaising smoothly with the church, the cemetery and everyone involved, so the day went perfectly, not just for our family, but for my auntie as she deserved. The never‑ending supply of tissues, cups of tea and genuine empathy at every moment is something we will never forget. I would wholeheartedly recommend Haine & Son to anyone looking for a funeral director you can truly trust — they go above and beyond, treating you like family and making such a difficult time a little easier to bear.

Sadly had to use Haine and Son Eastbourne for the funeral of my Mum. Everything was arranged very quickly and my Dad and I met with Sean to discuss our arrangements for Mum. He was professional and courteous and dealt with the final arrangements and being there on Mum's funeral day. Tanya and Louise in the office were very helpful and kept in touch with emails and visits to see them both. As funeral directors go we were looked after and especially Mum.Not much to judge it by to be honest as never had to arrange a funeral before. My Dad went to Haines as he had used them before for his parents. One criticism would be that when you do try and call sometimes it goes to other Haines outlets rather than the Eastbourne office we were trying to contact. The day itself went smoothly and kindly and that's all that we as a family can ask for.

We sadly lost our mum earlier this year. We’ve always used Haine’s for our family funerals but this is the first time I’ve had any involvement in any of the arrangements. Lee, Lou and Tanya made the whole process so much more bearable. They were so helpful throughout and no question was a stupid question. The day itself - because of the help and support they gave - was as close to being perfect as it could have been, considering the situation. The celebrant who we were put in touch with, Alan, was also superb and so supportive on the day and in the lead up as well. Thank you so much to everyone involved - mum would be proud of the send off we gave her

From the moment we phoned Haine and Son in Eastbourne and spoke to Lee we realized we had made the right choice. Lee and his whole team were amazing they made what is normally a very hard time very bearable, with professionalism and a personal touch. They never tried to upsell us anything. Recommended the perfect celabrator, accomodated my request for the Mercedes Hurse as that was my daddies car! The team in the office was a joy when we dropped clothes off, paid the bill and sent our photo collage. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to make a difficult time a little easier. Thank you for all you did for our Daddy, from Shan, Scott and Kay Hardy

We recently used Haines and Son for the funeral of my late sister. They were extremely kind and compassionate throughout the whole process . They explained everything well, were extremely patient and gave use plenty of time and space for decision making. The funeral was very respectful and they picked an excellent celebrant . I can only recommend them very highly.
