Our mum had chosen Tom Owen & Son before she passed away. She had made such an excellent choice, as Tristan and his team made the whole process of organising her funeral as seamless and painless as possible. They were so professional, kind, caring, efficient and understanding as we debated the funny little things that matter to you as a family. From the day of mums passing onwards, they thought of everything , accommodated all the requests and were always reachable when we needed them. The last few months of Mum's life were busy. Practical as ever, she immediately set about preparing her funeral plan after receiving her cancer diagnosis in November 2025. We had a couple of funeral director recommendations made to us & Mum knew instinctively she had found the right one when we stepped into Tom Owen & Son. Initially we met with Kelly to tailor the plan to Mum's wishes & Mum loved Kelly's kindness, empathy & patience with us. Then, upon losing our beloved Mum in April 2026, Tristan was our contact, unfailingly obliging & available to guide & steer us through the entire process with care & dedication, fulfilling everything we asked for. It was such a personal approach in such a sensitive area. Tristan matched us with the perfect celebrant - Paula Byrom, who helped craft a beautiful ceremony for our final farewell to Mum. Having the funeral plan agreed beforehand allowed Mum the peace of mind to enjoy some treats & outings before her last few weeks. I'd highly recommend this family run local funeral director without hesitation. All the staff have been discreet, warm & personable as well as offering an exemplary professional service. When our dear mum Liz died Tristan and his team were incredibly compassionate and kind. The whole team where respectful and caring not only of our mum but also of us. This is an amazing group of individuals who are dedicated in ensuring the people in their care are treated as their own family would be treated. From picking her up at her home through to the care shown when we visited the funeral home until caring for her at the crematorium we could not have asked for anything more.
