Trotman Funeral Directors has been serving the community of Shepton Mallet and the surrounding areas of Somerset since its founding in the winter of 1933 by Mr. William John (Jack) Trotman. Now rooted in the village of Cranmore, near Shepton Mallet, the business has remained a family-connected enterprise for four generations, with Mr. Trotman's grandson John Reakes continuing to care for the local community. The business is now owned by Adrian Forsey and his son Samuel, operating under the Forsey and Son name since 2014.
Based at Ashdene on Frome Road in Doulting, Trotman offers a comprehensive range of funeral services tailored to individual needs. These include an Unattended Direct Cremation, an Attended Simple Cremation, and a fully bespoke funeral service designed to give each loved one a truly unique send-off. The team prides itself on being traditionally minded yet forward-thinking, embracing environmentally conscious options such as hybrid vehicles, willow coffins, and green burial sites.
Trotman is a proud member of both SAIF (the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors) and the NAFD (National Association of Funeral Directors), ensuring clients are protected by rigorous codes of practice. The firm also offers flexible payment terms, pre-planning services, memorial masonry support, and a dedicated bereavement support group called STEPS.
